Who we are

PixelGuard (“we”) is a Shopify app that helps merchants keep their checkout conversion tracking working and monitored.

What we process

  • Store data: your myshopify domain, store email, plan, and the conversion-destination credentials you provide (encrypted at rest).
  • Conversion events: order value, currency, line items, and non-identifying match signals (cookies such as _fbp/_fbc, IP address, and user agent).
  • Customer identifiers for ad matching: only when the shopper has consented to marketing, we receive their email, phone, name, and city/zip/country to improve ad-conversion matching. These are hashed (SHA-256) the moment we receive them and the raw values are immediately discarded — we never store, log, or retain raw personal identifiers. Only the irreversible hashes are sent to the ad platform you connect.

How we use it

Solely to relay your conversion events to the destinations you configure (e.g. Meta) and to alert you when tracking stops. We do not sell personal data or use it for our own advertising.

The public pixel checker (/audit)

Our free checker at /audit is open to anyone and requires no account. When you enter a store address we fetch that one public page, exactly as a browser would, and analyse the tracking tags in it. We do not store the page.

If — and only if — you then ask us to email you the result, we store your email address, the store address you checked, and a summary of what we found. We store these so we can send you that report and answer you if you reply. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not share or sell this data.

The checker also offers an optional tick-box consenting to one follow-up message. If you leave it unticked you will receive the report you requested and nothing else. Ask us at [email protected] and we delete the record the same day — no account or verification needed, because you never had one.

Sub-processors

Conversion events are sent to the ad platforms you connect (e.g. Meta). We use infrastructure and email providers to operate the service.

Retention & deletion

We honor Shopify's GDPR webhooks: customer data-erasure requests redact personal data from stored events, and uninstalling the app removes all of your shop's data. You can request deletion at any time.
